The song "Uranium Fever" by Elton Britt, popular in Fallout, portrays a Uranium rush that supposedly mirrored the California Gold Rush of the 19th century. Was there really a "Uranium Fever"? Were private citizens contracted to "stake government land" as it is told in this song?
